Gametrailers.com wraps up their ‘Final Fantasy Retrospective’

like a lot of gamers, the final fantasy series opened up my eyes to the world of rpg’s. there’s just something about casting spells, encountering various creatures, and epic storylines that keeps gamers coming back for more. square has done a fantastic job with the final fantasy series, and over 17 years later (wow, its been that long?) the series is still a strong player in the rpg market.

with that, gametrailers.com gives us a look back (and forward) at the final fantasy series in their 13 part retrospective. the series of videos covers everything…the battle systems, the roman numeral numbering, storylines, characters, ports, remakes, etc. etc. etc.

the video below is the final installment in the series, which goes over what it takes to make a final fantasy game and the common elements seen across the games in the series.

check out the rest of the videos in the retrospective here.
