Rumor: PS2 Price Drop, Redesign

earlier this morning, MCV reported that sony is planning a redesign of the PS2 console, which will likely be paired with a price drop to a speculated $99.
according to mcv, the console will have a built in power supply and will be more compact than the current model pictured above.
this is great news for gamers! it shows us that both sony and game publishers still see a future in the ps2…for at least another year or so. rightfully so, as the ps2 has sold 120million+ units since its launch in 2000.
kudos to sony if this one is true.
