…what’s yours? although i have sworn off mmo’s since beating a horrible ffxi addiction (more on that in a later post…maybe), i’m still wildly fascinated with all things massively multiplayer. that said, i still lurk on wow forums and worldofwarcraft.com. one of the latest additions is a new series of commercials featuring some of our most (or least) favorite celebrities. the first 2 feature mr. t and william shatner. verne troyer (mini me) to follow.

today is a big day for independent game publisher Basilisk Games, as they released their highly anticipated rpg, Eschalon: Book I.
In their words:
Eschalon: Book I is a classic role-playing game experience that will take you across massive outdoor environments and deep into sprawling dungeons as you seek to uncover the mystery of who - or what - you are.
being a fan of “old school” rpg’s, i decided to download the demo and give it a shot. my initial impression was ‘wow’. character creation was very detailed (stat-wise), as there are 8 attributes, 24 skills, 5 origins, 5 axioms, and 5 classes to choose from…all of which affect your character’s statistics.
..exactly what you would expect from a developer who’s mission statement includes what i believe to be the core elements of a great rpg:
Single player. Turn based. Stat heavy. Story driven.
i created a ‘magick user’ and played through about 45 mins of the demo…really enjoying it so far. after i’m done with the demo, i’ll make the decision on a purchase.
